Brenda is a tax partner with PwC’s Not-for-Profit Sector Services Group and Family Enterprise Services Planning Group, practicing in the areas of personal, estate and trust and private enterprise advisory and taxation, as well as charities’ and other tax-exempt organizations’ taxation and governance for 30 years.

Brenda is a chartered professional accountant (CPA) and chartered accountant (CA) and works in the philanthropic sector providing tax and wealth planning advisory services to high net worth families, private businesses, charities, and other tax-exempt organizations.  She is PwC Canada’s tax practice leader in the not-for-profit sector space.

Brenda has assisted charity and other tax-exempt organization clients with tax matters, endowment and gifting strategies, optimal governance structures, and other business and operational-related activities including the restructuring of commercial operations that are carried out within the group.  She has assisted with the creation of charitable foundations and organizations and with their charitable registration applications.  Tax guidance is also extended to trustees with respect to their duties and obligations and to beneficiaries with respect to tax planning for their inheritances.

Brenda is a Bachelor of Commerce graduate of University of Toronto. She is a member of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Professional Accountants, Institute of Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario, Canadian Tax Foundation, Society of Estate and Trust Practitioners (STEP), and Canadian Association of Gift Planners (CAGP).  As well, she has served as an instructor of the CICA’s In-Depth Tax Training Course.

Brenda is a regular speaker at industry conferences, a contributor to industry publications, and in a volunteer capacity, serves as a board director and committee member to a number of not-for-profit organizations and charities.
